Industrialization Engineer – Wet Processes
Context for the Role Creation:
As part of the industrial development of a chemical process in aqueous media, the Industrialization Engineer supports the scale-up from small-scale prototypes to a complete and high-performance industrial line. The role sits at the intersection of process development, industrialization, supplier coordination, and technical project management.
Main Activities:
1. Process Development and Industrialization
- Lead the industrial scale-up of the process by proposing technical solutions that anticipate and prevent issues related to industrialization: equipment performance and reliability, process robustness, safety, environmental impact, and maintenance.
- Develop and integrate different technological modules to build a complete industrial line, ensuring that each step follows V-cycle principles (functional analysis, design, sizing, validation, testing, and commissioning) while incorporating safety rules, manufacturing and maintenance constraints, design standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with the chemical process team to optimize small-scale prototype processes.
2. Technical Specifications and Supplier Coordination
- Draft technical specifications for equipment and associated systems (baths, utilities, control systems, instrumentation, etc.).
- Participate in risk analyses (HAZOP).
- Manage and challenge suppliers and equipment manufacturers on their technical proposals, trials, and on-site interventions.
- Monitor qualification tests with suppliers and contribute to performance validation.
3. Expertise and Technological Watch
- Contribute to technological and patent monitoring in the field of wet processes and industrial equipment.
- Identify and propose improvements to reduce the environmental impact of the process, particularly energy consumption and effluents generated by equipment.
4. Technical Project Management
- Plan and track the technical stages of projects, identify risks, and propose corrective actions.
- Ensure coordination between internal teams and external partners to secure project progress and successful delivery.
Your experience
